Coach Les Mignery

I began my athletic journey playing football, basketball and track in Sundance Wyoming.  Track was my favorite sport, I liked the self-discipline that it requires. Upon high school graduation I walked on to the University of Wyoming’s track team where I specialized in the 400 meter. I graduated from U of W with an Exercise Sports Science degree.

My dad started participating in ultra-marathon events in the 1990’s. Not knowing exactly what I was going to do with myself after college track I traveled with him to races as his crew. Ultra was what I wanted to do! I’ve been competing in them since 1998.

My morning runs are an everyday thing.  If I don’t get out I just don’t feel right.  I enjoy the training process getting prepared for ultra-marathons.  After the race season, come fall I am fit and ready for a few hunting trips and enjoy nature at a much slower, intimate pace.

When I’m not racing or training I’m planning the next backcountry hunting and fishing adventure, climbing, dirt biking, pack goating, skiing or riding horses with my wife and daughter.
